The Family Crest

These are the Todd Family Arms. The predominant motif are three foxes heads as the word "tod" is Middle English for "fox". The motto is "Oportet Vivere" which is a latin phrase meaning (roughly) "It behoves one to live".

This is the description of the arms as they appear on the the grant. The language is very formal and quite archaic.

"sable a pull reversed or between three foxes heads erased proper and for the crest on a wreath of the colours in front of a foxes head erased proper two saltires argent"

Very Brief History

This set of arms were granted to granted to Richard Stuart Todd and the descendants of his father, Richard Farmer Todd. They were awarded on the 2nd of June 1924, when he became the Sheriff of Worcestshire.

To the best of by knowledge there is no great antiquity in these arms.
